n.3.17.Voting Theory Party - 1.0

Voting Theory Party

Is it possible to have a preemptive election? Circumvent the primitive out-dated system we have now and do things a better way? There could a be a group effort by the Voting Theory Party (aka the Smart Party) to elect a president through means more appropriate voting system (an iterative p-norm system (the sub-section on which Prescott has not yet posted, but the p-norm system is at http://thenotes-3.blogspot.com/p/n37pnorm-voting-systems-10.html)), then run the candidate in the popular election. It is equivalent to the government contracting out the function of elections to corporations. There does exist the problem of contamination from people outside the party joining in order to do cutthroat behavior. We haven’t figured out a solution to that, or if it would be significant. Also, the party would support congressmen and local political groups in favor of change to the voting system, if ever possible. This sub-section is really an appendix. A full sub-section was in The Notes back in 2009, but got taken out (largely because we weren't quite sure how to make the Voting Theory Party happen), it’s been talked about putting it back in. We’ll see. But this little note got here because of americanselects.org (as seen on The Colbert Report). It seems we have something in common. We here just want to applaud their efforts. Thanks and good luck!
